Keeping your electric bike safe is essential. Follow these steps to protect your investment:

Step 1: Invest in a High-Quality Lock

A strong lock is your first line of defense. At eBike XL, we have high-quality locks available in-store, and they can also be added to your order. Almost every bike we sell already comes with an additional back wheel lock, but we do not recommend relying solely on this back wheel lock. Investing in a robust lock ensures your bike remains safe even in busy or high-risk areas.

Step 2: Lock Your Bike Correctly

Proper locking is just as important as the lock itself. Here are some key tips:

• Always lock your bike to a fixed and sturdy object, preferably in a well-lit and busy area if left outside.

• Secure the frame first, then the rear wheel, and finally the front wheel.

• Hang the lock at least 50 cm above the ground and point it towards the ground.

• Always lock your bike, even for short stops or when indoors. Half of all bike thefts occur at home (basements, garages, hallways, etc.).

• Consider additional anti-theft devices for removable parts like the saddle or wheel axles.

• Always take removable items with you, such as the battery or display.
