Where do I start?Updated 12 days ago
Finding the perfect electric bike depends on your riding style, terrain, and personal preferences. Here are some key points to consider:
New to Electric Bikes?
Battery: Think about how far you usually ride. If you plan longer rides, choose a larger battery (up to 750Wh). For short city rides, a smaller battery (300–500Wh) is usually sufficient.
Motor: Consider the terrain you’ll ride on. Flat city streets often require a 40–50 Nm motor, while hilly or mountainous terrain may need 60–85 Nm. See our guide on Bosch motor strength here.
Suspension: Decide if you need front suspension, full suspension, or none, based on the surfaces you ride on.
Style & Brand: Personal preferences matter—choose a model that suits your taste and lifestyle.
Display Type: Some displays, like the Bosch Intuvia, can be removed (handy but can be stolen). Others, like the Bosch Purion, stay fixed and are more secure.
Belt vs. Chain: Belt drives require less maintenance and are quieter, while chains are more common and easier to replace, but require more maintenance.
Bike Type: Choose based on your main use—city bike, transport/cargo bike, mountain bike, compact bike, etc.
